Home-made version of the vintage competition jersey year 96/97, name and number Turrini 7, buttoning missing, two holes of maximum 2 cm on lower part of sleeves, one on each. Back prints darkened by time, patches and weave in order. Technical sponsor Lotto, commercial sponsor Centrale latte di Napoli.
ANECDOTES AND CURIOSITIES
It was a bad year in 96/97 for Napoli, led by coach Gigi Simoni, who, after a decent start to the championship, finished 13th, ahead of Bartolo Mutti's Piacenza, one step away from relegation. A nightmarish ending, the partenopei saw all dreams of European revenge extinguished when from the 13th to the 16th day they lost against Roma, Fiorentina and Inter, winning only against Lazio on the 14th day, thus slipping from 7th to 10th place. But despite everything to Gigi Simoni you couldn't help but love him. He came into a Napoli side that had long since given up dreams of glory, but still managed to reach the final of the Coppa Italia, and only because of a mishap with Ferlaino, who did not remain seated as Napoli's technical director for the final, in fact he was replaced by Vincenzo Montefusco.
